What Are Search Engines?


Search Engines work much like searching for something in a library.  It is a service that allows searching of the content of Internet sites.  It is designed to help users find Web sites on specific subjects. The user types in a search word or phrase in a search engine and is given a range of sites to choose from.

Two popular search engines are Google (www.google.com) and Yahoo (www.yahoo.com).


What Is a Domain Name?


A domain name is similar to your street address - it is used to locate you.  Your domain name is your unique address on the Internet. You are the only one with that domain name and it can be viewed all over the world. Our domain name is "lirvaproductions.com".


What Is a Web Host?


A web host provides space on the internet so that you can store your web pages. In most cases you pay a monthly or yearly fee to store your pages.
